Mol Microbiol. 2015 Sep 10	The OD 730 of cell culture was set to 0.1, and the cells were grown in standard growth conditions for 3 days. Cultures (OD730 = 1, 40 ml) were rapidly cooled by pouring them into two frozen centrifuge tubes, and cells were harvested by centrifugation at +4°C. PCC 6803 were grown in BG-11 medium supplemented with 20 mM HEPES, pH 7.5, at 32°C, under continuous illumina- tion at photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD) of 40 μmol m−2 s−1 in ambient air.
